Okay, I have had it with Gmail giving me really scary recipes for exciting Spam products because of it's intuitive link feature. Every time I delete all those unwanted invitations to get great deals on foreign pharmaceuticals, I have to notice a recipe for something like "Gingered Spam Salad". What's really unnerving is that all these links take me to this site called Recipe Source, which claims to be a valuable resource for the home cook.
I can guess, as I will not spend any of my time perusing this gallery of epicurean hand-me-downs, that most of the "recipes" are nothing more than "toss this canned product with this frozen product and those crackers over there in a large baking dish, put it in the oven at 450* for 45 minutes and viola, a great home-cooked meal for the whole family!"
That is not home-cooking, not that many people would know it these days. Home cooking is a labor of love, sometimes time-consuming and always worth the effort. Even when the food isn't that great, it's still better than a can of cream of mushroom soup, rice and chicken in a casserole dish.
